Documented Muscle Mass Gains Using Compex EMS

Compex Sport “Strength” Program 2010

I did a 3 month off season strength program this winter using my Compex Sport. I ran this program on my quads only. As you can see by the table, my muscle mass gain was pretty significant for a 48 year old. The photos at the right show you visually how effective this training is.

I’ve been able to get out on the bike early this year and I already… [Read More]

Family & Children

You are the most important influence on your child and it is up to you to help your children develop healthy eating habits for life. If you offer a variety of foods, you will help children get the nutrients they need from every food group and they will be more likely to try new foods and to like more foods. Children who have developed a taste for many types of foods enable you to be… [Read More]

Beginners Guide to Fitness

The American Dietetic Association offers a number of ways to improve and maintain your lifestyle for a lifetime:

  • Get up 30 minutes earlier in the morning and take a brisk walk to start your day. Bring a neighbor or friend to make it more pleasant.
  • Forget the drive-through car wash. Wash your car yourself. You will save money at the same time.
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. Walking up stairs

Transitioning To a Plant Based Diet

Typically, the Standard American Diet consists of high-fat, high-sugar, high-salt, and highly processed foods. Think of a typical fast-food order. Over periods of time, our bodies become ‘addicted’ to such food, and often times with our busy lifestyles, grabbing a burger and fries simply seems the easiest route to eating. But long-term such eating habits are a prescription for disaster.

In fact, we tend to eat for reasons having less to do with nutrition and… [Read More]

2010 Montana Snowbowl Gelande

My brother Pat Arnone competes in Gelande ski jumping. If you don’t know what this is, you should go watch an event sometime. The crazy Gelande jumpers generally do the same jumps as the nordic jumpers use in the Olympics. The primary difference is they do this on Alpine Skis!

Here is a video of this year’s event at the Montana Snowbowl in Missoula Montana. You will notice that the last jumper appears to be… [Read More]

Compex and Sprained Ankle

I rolled my ankle last summer and was diagnosed with a severe sprain. It was very painful and swelled up immediately after it happened. I was afraid it was broken.

The doctor x-rayed it and saw that it was just a severe sprain. They told me it would be 3 to 4 weeks before I would be able to walk on it. They gave me a boot cast that I put on to get home… [Read More]
